ESA issues including streak horned meadowlark and sage grouse. Sought data reports from other state Farm Bureau's with the help of American Farm Bureau to evaluate damage and depredation specifically from Canadian geese nationwide. Addditional lobbying and analysis on hunting, bird counts and additional regulations specifically on cackler geese specifically in Oregon.
Continued to monitor Resilient Federal Forests Act (HR 2647) which would simplify environmental process requirements, reduces project planning time and reduces the cost of implementing forest management projects while still ensuring robust protection of the environment. It offers common sense relief to the gridlock that has plagued implementation of management decisions on federal forests and rangelands. Finally it include opportunities for certain grazing practices to combat invasive speciesthat increase the likelihood of catastrophic wildfires.

USDA biotech work and proposed voluntary non GMO label. Continued to seek congressional support for HR 1599 including co sponsorship of dear colleague letters and legislation not only of vountary non GMO label, but federal solution and limiting state initiatives and definition of the term natural.
Continued monitoring of food safety rulemaking. Began working with ODA and other industry groups to form FSMA implementation task force in preparation for proposed rules becoming final.

Evaluated final EPA rule regarding Waters of the US (WOTUS) and the impact on Oregon's farms and ranches.
Support for HR 1732, the Regulatory Intergrity Protection Act of 2015. HR 1732 requires the EPA to withdraw the current proposed rule that defines WOTUS and charges them with developing a new proposed rule. The legislation also requires that the agencies solicit recommendations from and consult with state and local officials and other stakeholders on how to define WOTUS.

Support for TPA, The Bipartisan Congressioanl Trade Priorities and Accountability Act (TPA) S.995. The TPA bill allows Congress to have and up or down vote on trade agreements. OFB also supports well crafted trade agreements with Europe and the Pacific Rim.
Also continued to monitor possible markets opening with Cuba.

Continued to lobby for permanency of expiring tax provisions including Section 179, bonus depreciation, deduction of donated food and conservation easements.
Requesting increase in equipment repair regulations. When the IRS issued Rev. Proc. 15-20 updating the rule dealing iwth the expensing of equipment repairs, it requested comments on whether the $500 safe-harbor threshold should be raised for businesses that choose to deduct, rather than capitalize, certain capital expenses. OFB belive that $500 should be increased to $5000.
