Letter to Sec. Perez supporting personal choice and birth control for the Affordable HealthCare Act without others interference and based on each worker's own belief.
Letter to Admin. Tevenner supporting personal choice and birth control for the Affordable HealthCare Act without others interference and based on each worker's own belief. And proposed rule making comments supporting the Administrations continuing commitment to ensuring that women receive insurance coverage without cost-sharing of the full range of FDA-approved methods of contraception and related counseling.
Dept of Labor-
letter commending the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Department of the Treasury for issuing regulations that specify circumstances under which married individuals can continue to access affordable health insurance when it is inadvisable or impossible for them to file a joint tax return. The temporary and final regulations issued by the IRS provide important allowances for abandoned spouses and spouses who are survivors of domestic abuse to be eligible for both the Advance Premium Tax Credit (APTC) and the Premium Tax Credit (PTC).
Senators and House Members-writing to urge you to take action in the upcoming lame duck session to provide continued funding for the Childrens Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Specifically, we urge you to include a four-year CHIP funding extension in the next legislative vehicle that is moving at the end of this session.
Dept. of Labor-We write in response to the Interim Final Rules (IFR) on Coverage of Certain Preventive Services Under the Affordable Care Act, published in the Federal Register on August 27, 2014 by the Department of the Treasury, Department of Labor (DOL), and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) (collectively, the Departments). The IFR provides an alternative process by which an entity eligible for the accommodation may provide notice of its religious objection to providing insurance coverage of contraception or sterilization. The participants and beneficiaries of the health plans of eligible entities that avail themselves of the accommodation still receive the benefit of the full range of FDA-approved methods of contraception, sterilization, and related education and counseling without cost-sharing, as guaranteed by Section 2713 of the Public Health Service Act and implementing regulations.
Senate & House letter-we write to request strengthened funding for adolescent sexual health promotion programs and the elimination of harmful abstinence-only-until-marriage programs in the final fiscal year (FY) 2015 funding.
Letter to President Obama-There is no doubt of the challenges we face going forward. Now, more than ever, your support protecting and improving access to the full range of reproductive health care will be critical. That is why now is the time to be bold: we need you to take a strong stand against the Hyde Amendment and related abortion funding restrictions by eliminating them from your Fiscal Year 2016 budget.
Letter to Justice writing in concert with the letter recently sent to you by the National Advocates for Pregnant Women on behalf of 48 organizations requesting that the Department of Justice (DOJ) withdraw any support for enhanced penalties for pregnant women. Specifically, we request that you issue a memorandum stating that prosecutors should not seek sentence enhancements because a woman committed a crime while she was pregnant. Such enhancements are not only contrary to the DOJs commitment to rational and just sentencing policies, but they are bad public health policy and violate fundamental principles of fairness and equality.

Letter to Sen. Reid-We urge you to protect The Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces Executive Order
against any attempts to diminish or undermine it during the lame duck session. We believe
the executive order will improve the lives of millions of workers-helping to ensure they
have access to fair pay, benefits, and working conditions.
We write to express our strong support for the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) proposal to
collect pay data from federal contractors and subcontractors and incorporate it into the agencys decisions about how to allocate its enforcement resources.
Letter to Sen. Reid-we write to express our support for the Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces Executive Order. We are organizations dedicated to eradicating all forms of discrimination in the workplace and promoting good jobs for women. This executive order is the latest in a series of important steps the President has taken to bring the federal contractor community closer to achieving these goals. We strongly urge you to defend against any efforts to undercut this executive order through the legislative process.
We write to express our strong support for the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP)
proposed rule implementing Executive Order 13665, prohibiting government
contractors from discharging, penalizing, or otherwise discriminating against
any employee or applicant for discussing, disclosing, or inquiring about their
compensation or that of another employee or applicant.1 This rule will
protect members of our federal contracting workforce who wish to inquire
about wages without fear of reprisal, and will help employees and employers
alike to identify and correct pay disparities.
