S. 249-Responsible Homeowner Refinancing Act-Would ease current restrictions on the Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP) to allow greater access for homeowners.
H.R. 2767 - Protecting American Taxpayers and Homeowners Act of 2013-Would reform the mortgage finance system in U.S. C.A.R. commented on loan limits, risk sharing, government guarantee, portfolios, and proposed changes to FHA.
S. 1217 - Housing Finance Reform and Taxpayer Protection Act-Would wind-down Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, reform the secondary mortgage market and create an environment to increase private capital's participation in the mortgage finance market.
C.A.R. has lobbied on the future of the government sponsored enterprises (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac), their future regulatory structure, and the government's role in the mortgage market.
C.A.R. has lobbied for the reinstatement of the higher Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loan limits of 175 percent of the national conforming loan limits for high cost areas.

S. 1376 - FHA Solvency Act of 2013-A bill to improve the Fedeal Housing Administration and to ensure the solvency of the Mutual Mortgage Insurance Fund, and for other purposes.
H.R. 4208 - Stabilizing FHA Loan Limit Calculations Act of 2014 - Would require HUD to use the same median home prices used in 2013 (unless they have gone up) in determining a metropolitan statistical area's loan limit.
C.A.R. has lobbied on the proposed Qualified Residential Mortgage proposed rule and our concerns over how it will severely impact the availability of home loans.
C.A.R. has lobbied on the issue of FHA's mortgage insurance premiums and its availability of capital to homebuyers.
C.A.R. has lobbied on the issue of FHA's condominium qualification requirements which will make it more difficult for condominium projects to qualify for FHA approval.

-H.R. 3370 & S. 1846 - Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act - The legislation would delay the implementation of higher flood insurance rates.
H.R. 508 - Terrorism Risk Insurance Act of - Reauthorization Act of 2013 or the TRIA Reauthorization Act of 2013 - Would extend the Terrorism Insurance Program until December 31, 2019. Requires the Secretary of the Treasury to collect all required terrorism loss risk-spreading premiums for any act of terrorism that occurs on or after January 1, 2012, by September 30, 2024 (currently, by September 30, 2017).
S. 2244 - Terrorism Risk Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2014 - Amends the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act of 2002 to extend the Terrorism Insurance Program through December 31, 2021.Decreases the federal share of the compensation for insured losses and increases the insurance marketplace aggregate retention amount.

Expiring Provisions Improvement Reform and Efficiency (EXPIRE) Act - Would extend a number of expiring tax provisions; including mortgage debt relief and the deduction of mortgage insurance premiums.
C.A.R. has lobbied the Congress on House Ways and Means Committee and Senate Finance Committee efforts to reform the U.S. tax code in areas that would impact real estate tax benefits for both individuals and businesses; including draft language by Ways and Means chairman Dave Camp.
