Byrnes amendment that ensures funds are not used contrary to the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993, Executive Order No. 13279, Sections 702(a) and 703 (e)(2) of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, or the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Key vote against Rep. Maloney's Amendment to H.R. 5055 regarding discrimination against those who view marriage as one man and one woman. Key vote against final passage.
Financial Services Appropriations Act (HR5485) Key vote (support) for the Palmer Amendment that would withhold funding from implementing D.C.'s Reproductive Health Non-Discrimination Amendment Act (RHNDA). Opposed (key vote) the Norton Amendment that would grant D.C. budget autonomy and the Grayson Amendment to strike the longstanding prohibition on funding abortion coverage health plans through the Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) program. Key vote (support) Davidson Amendment that prohibits funds to be used to implement changes to the selective service system.
Agriculture Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act of 2017 (HR 5054): lobbied in favor of Rep. Brad Wenstrup's language request to retain standing protections for human embryos
State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs Appropriations Act of 2017 (HR 5912): lobbied for Chris Smith's (R-New Jersey) request to include language defunding the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), reinstating the Mexico City Policy and setting family planning levels as a ceiling instead of a floor.
Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017 (HR 5926): support Rep. Diane Black and Rep. Martha Roby's request to withdraw taxpayer subsidies from Planned Parenthood and its subsidiaries. Supported Rep. John Fleming and Rep.
