Joined leading groups in letter to urge House and Senate leaders to name a chair to the Congressional Oversight Commission, as provided in Title IV of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) of 2020.
Joined group letter to House leaders urging opposition to HR 7059, the Coronavirus Provider Protection Act, which would grant sweeping immunity from consumer, patient or worker lawsuits for Covid-19 related injuries to hospitals, nursing homes and other health care providers.
Joined consumer, labor, civil rights letter to House and Senate leaders urging opposition to S. 4317, the SAFE TO WORK Act, which would grant sweeping immunity from consumer, patient or worker lawsuits for Covid-19 related injuries to nearly every business.
Joined group letter from leading civil rights, digital rights, racial justice organizations and consumer groups to urge to all FTC Commissioners to take steps to support further study of data and discrimination issues in any and all forthcoming FTC Act Section 6(b) investigations undertaken by the FTC.
Held numerous meetings with House and Senate staff to discuss concepts for draft federal privacy and data protection laws, with emphasis on preserving a private right of action and preventing the preemption of state laws.

On behalf of the TransAtlantic Consumer Dialogue, which Edmund Mierzwinski co-chairs, he sent a letter co-signed my European co-chair Monique Goyen of BEUC, to Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross and his European Union counterparts urging no further trade negotiations on personal data transfer agreements under the so-called "Privacy Shield" agreement until US and EU consumers have greater privacy and digital rights protections.
