NAEMT letters to White House, HHS, CMS, DHS, FEMA, and House and Senate Leadership to fund EMS directly in COVID-19 packages specifically for priority access to PPE for EMS personnel, priority testing for EMS Personnel and their families, vaccinations, reimburse EMTs and paramedics for the cost of daycare for EMS personnel with children, hazard pay, reimburse all EMS agencies for overtime wages paid to employees and additional costs necessary to provide emergency medical services during the public health pandemic, priority access to EMS agencies for vital prehospital medications; provide direct funding to all EMS agencies for ventilators and other needed medical equipment; provide direct funding to EMS to purchase ambulances; ensure all EMS personnel are covered in all applicable COVID-19 provisions by specifically including Emergency Medical Services Providers and Personnel;
Support funding for the SIREN Law for FY2021;
Support letter to House and Senate Appropriators to support funding for EMSC;
Educate lawmakers on the need for standardization of prehospital trauma care across the U.S. Armed Services and support inclusion of report language in the FY2021 NDAA;
Support Congressional letter on requesting CMS to reimburse EMS for Treatment in Place (TIP);
Support reimbursement for reimbursing EMS for alternate destination;
Urge Congress to amends the Stafford Act to enable all EMS responders the opportunity to apply directly to FEMA for Public Assistance program grants; waves the 25 percent match during the pandemic response; requires CMS to reimburse all ground ambulance providers for treatment in place and telehealth consultation; prioritize and protect EMS providers access to PPE and COVID testing; and provides $5 billion in EMS specific ground ambulance funding for all EMS provider agencies both public and private; Support Congressional letter on Direct funding for EMS through FEMA DRF grants;
Educate lawmakers and staff for the need to count the EMS workforce correctly and support draft legislation to count the EMS workforce correctly through the BLS;
Urge support in the House to join the EMS Congressional Caucus;
Educate and urge lawmakers and staff the regarding the need to address balance billing without impacting the sustainability of ground ambulance services.
Support inclusion of S. 1479/H.R.2760, Next Generation 9-1-1 Act of 2019 in FY21 Infrastructure bill;
Urge inclusion of EMS agencies in PPP loans;
Support letter to DOJ to extend PSOB benefits to all EMS practitioners;
Support letter to FEMA to amend the Authorized Equipment List (AEL) for FEMAs
preparedness grants to also include ambulances.
