We support FIRPTA repeal and/or legislation/regulations to reduce FIRPTAs negative impact on the multifamily industry, including withdrawal of Section Two of IRS Notice 2007-55 with respect to the treatment of liquidating distributions of a REIT as a sale of real estate subject to FIRPTA rather than a sale of stock.
S. 3384 (114th Congress), Middle-Income Housing Tax Credit Act of 2016, to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide a credit for middle-income housing, all provisions.
