Defense Appropriations - in support of funding for Non-Lethal Defense Technology; in support of funding for Force Protection Advanced Technology; in support of funding for Advanced Submarine System Development; in support of funding for Penn State Cancer Institute research initiative.
Energy and Water Development Appropriations Act - Department of Energy research programs- Increased funding for Office of Science. In support of funding for Basic Energy Sciences. In support of funding for Energy Frontier Research Centers. In support of funding for Energy Innovation Hubs. In support of funding for RE-ENERGYSE program.
Labor, Health and Human Services and Education Appropriations - Increased funding for the Department of Health and Human Services including National Institutes of Health research programs and Title VII and Title VIII funding; Poison Control Centers and programs for teaching and research at academic medical centers - Department of Education -- increased funding for student financial aid; education research; international education; graduate education; and higher education programs for disadvantaged students including Pell Grants, TRIO, and GEAR UP. Commerce Justice Science Appropriations - increased funding for National Science Foundation and National Institute of Standards and Technology.
Transportation Appropriations Act - in support of transit funding in Centre County, PA; in support of Highway Funding in Centre County and Dauphin County, PA.

H.R. 3221, The Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act - concern with provision that would have eliminated interest exemption for graduate students; and concern with provision that would have made graduate students ineligible for subsidized Stafford loans.
