Supported S. 193, the Adopt GREET Act, which would require EPA to update its outdated lifecycle modeling for ethanol and biodiesel, specifically by adopting the latest Argonne National Labs Greenhouse Gas and Regulated Emissions and Energy Use in Transportation (GREET) Model.
Supported H.R. 1113, the Renewable Fuel Standard Integrity Act, legislation that addresses the timing and transparency issues associated with the small refinery exemption (SRE) program under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS).
Opposed H.R. 190, the Leave Ethanol Volumes at Existing Levels (LEVEL) Act, legislation to repeal the Renewable Fuels Standard II (RFS), leaving RFS I levels intact.
Submitted comments to EPA's request for comments on petitions received for a waiver for refiners from their blending obligations under the 2019 and 2020 Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), urging EPA to reject the waiver requests.
Sent a letter to the EPA Inspector General encouraging he ensure that all communications from EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler and any correspondence of President Trumps political appointees about pending SRE petitions be preserved, in part, to ensure that dispensation of Small Refinery Exemption (SREs) waivers comply with federal laws regarding political appointees roles in federal acts affecting a personal financial interest.
Praised EPA's approval of the removal of the low Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) gasoline requirements in the Kansas City metro area, which now allows for E15 fuel to be sold in the area year-round.
