H.R. 397, the "Rehabilitation for Multiemployer Pensions Act of 2019," legislation to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to create a Pension Rehabilitation Trust Fund and to establish a Pension Rehabilitation Administration within the Department of the Treasury to make loans to multiemployer defined benefit plans; entire bill. H.R. 748, the "Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act," legislation to provide emergency assistance and health care response for individuals, families, and businesses affected by the 2020 coronavirus pandemic; proposals to include comprehensive multiemployer retirement plan reform and authorization of composite plans. Legislative proposals to authorize composite multiemployer pension plans as a means to provide a secure, sustainable retirement for workers while ensuring the viability of sponsoring employers (no bill introduced). Grassley-Alexander Concept Release concerning comprehensive reform of the multiemployer pension system; provisions related to composite plans, return assumptions, withdrawal liability, and PBGC premium rates (no bill introduced).
