H.R. 1424 - The Emergency Economic Stablization Act of 2008 (EESA). The Forum supports government policies that promote systemic stability in the capital markets and financial system, increase liquidity in the economy, ease the foreclosure crisis and restore confidence in the economy and financial markets.
Fair Value/Market to Market Accounting - The Forum supports transparency and accuracy in accounting standards applicable to

financial and depository institutions. The Forum also supports separating periodic changes in fair value into period credit losses to be reflected in earnings and liquidity losses to be reflected in comprehensive income. In addition, the Forum supports enhancing the trigger for other than temporary impairment on securities and improving the use of FAS Rule 115 to provide further use of held to maturity for cash flow investors.
Implementation of regulations and the executive order of H.R. 556 - FINSA of 2007 (CFIUS) which takes prudent steps to improve the process for vetting foreign investments in the U.S. in a way that does not become so unwieldy and uninviting that valuable investment from abroad is discouraged, hurting jobs and economic growth.
Financial Regulatory Modernization - The Forum supports modernization and reform of the financial regulatory system to ensure the safety and soundness of financial institutions, the stability of the U.S. financial system and protect the varied interests of depositors, consumers, and investors.
Capital Market Competitiveness generally - The Forum supports the free flow of capital and open & competitive U.S. markets.
The Forum also supports maintaining the United States as an attractive place for investment and a continued leader in the global economy.
The Forum supports supervisory and regulatory reforms that will enhance the effectiveness and competitiveness of the U.S. financial services industry.
