March 2020 Supported development of and introduction of The Financial Protections and Assistance for Americas Consumers, States, Businesses, and Vulnerable Populations Act (H.R. 6321) by members of the House Financial Services Committee, including its provisions to cap payday loan and other interest rates at 36APR, expand protections against foreclosures and evictions to all consumers, restrict debt collections, utility shutoffs, vehicle repossessions and garnishments, Eliminate overdraft and other penalty fees, and take other actions necessary to protect consumers from unfair financial practices during the Covid19 Pandemic. This comprehensive legislation includes Rep. Brad Shermans Disaster Protection For Workers Credit Act under Section 112.
March 2020 Similarly, we support Sens. Brian Schatz and Sherrod Brown to restrict negative consumer reporting, as the Disaster Protection for Workers Credit Act (S.3508).

Lobbied both members of the House and Senate to support funding for FDA to establish duration limits on all medically important antibiotics approved for use in food animals. We were asking for general support and also circulated a dear colleague letter in the House.

19 March 2020 Urged House and Senate leaders in letter to require airlines to prioritize passenger health and safety over pandemic costs; ensure airlines compensate consumers fairly for canceled flights. Talk w/ Secretary Chao's Transportation Department staff about these problems and send the Secretary a letter urging DOT to issue statement reminding airlines that if airlines cancel flights, consumers must receive cash, not scrip, refunds.

24 Jan 2020 In comments responding to Request for Information urged House Energy and Commerce Committee leaders Pallone, Walden, Schakowsky and Rodgers to strengthen weak draft federal privacy bill that has yet to be introduced to ensure that stronger state laws are protected, consumers have a strong private right of action and other provisions are strongly pro-privacy.
