Provided feedback on and support for H.R. 5240, the Enhancing Grid Through Public-Private Partnerships Act, to permanently authorize program assisting small- and medium-sized electric utilities with grid security.
Discussed the electric utility industry's efforts to protect the grid and its close work with the federal government on cybersecurity.
Discussed support for legislation to improve the hydropower licensing and relicensing reform process -- H.R. 3043 and provisions in S. 1460.
Discussed language in H.R. 723/S. 239 that carves out federal hydropower facilities from the definition of eligible federal facilities that can use energy savings performance contracts.
Lobbied in support of wholesale electricity market reforms with focus on capacity markets and protecting customer interests, as well as ensuring public power's right to self-supply.
Discussed concerns with any proposed attempts by Congress to federalize rate design and how public power is working with its customers to enable distributed energy resources.
