Provided information regarding the current farm bill working in Oregon. Congressional staff received documents specifically related to farm programs in conservation, commodity, loan and disaster payments and how they benifit producers and production in the state.
Information and funding efforts were also sought with the Oregon congressional delegation with regard to the Suzuki fruit fly issue.

OFBF has lobbied for the need to bring comprehensive immigration language up in Congress. Have participated in conference calls regarding H2a reform and no-match rule. Actively involved with Coaltion for a Working Oregon, American Farm Bureau and National Council of Agricultural Employers. Revisions to AGJOBS and OFB support has been discussed with congressional
delegation (S 1038 and HR 2414).

Environmental Protection Agency regulations on greenhouse gas emissions and spray drift policies, including S 3072, SJ 26, HJR 86 and HR 4753Lobbied both House and Senate congressional offices to sign on to resolutions opposing these efforts. Organization comments were also submitted to EPA regarding a change in spray drift policies.

Oregon Farm Bureau continues to push for estate tax reform. Our goals include a $10 million exemption per person that is indexed for inflation, continuation of stepped up basis and an increase in the gift tax exemption. Lobby efforts included OFB member discussion to congressional offices.
