Build Back Better Act (Budget Reconciliation): Automatic Retirement Plan inclusion that would mandate retirement plans in the workplace for employers with 5 or more employees.
American Rescue Plan of 2021: Budget reconciliation legislation that included a pay-for that impacts retirement savers. Section 9709 would have implemented a cost-of-living adjustment freeze for the year 2030 and beyond.
S. 1870, the Enhancing Emergency and Retirement Savings Act of 2021: The legislation would provide a penalty-free emergency distribution option from employer-sponsored retirement accounts and IRAs.
Portable Retirement and Investment Account Act (PRIA): Creates retirement accounts at birth to help establish lifelong savings/retirement accounts.
S. 222, The American Opportunity Accounts Act: Establishes tax-exempt American Opportunity Accounts to provide children at birth with a $1,000 savings account with annual contributions up to $2,000 depending on family income.
