Excellence in Mental Health Act (S.264/H.R. 1263), all provisions related to expanding access to mental health and addictions care by supporting FQCBHCs in treating all individuals regardless of their ability to pay, with a comprehensive array of outpatient behavioral health services
Mental Health in Schools Act (S. 195/H.R. 628), all provisions related to revising community children and violence program to assist local communities and schools in applying a public health approach to mental health services
Mental Health First Aid Act of 2013 (S. 153/H.R. 274), all provisions related to authorizing a demonstration program to train college faculty and staff in Mental Health First Aid, a community education program that helps people identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and addictions and deal with psychiatric crises
Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Act of 2013 (S. 162/H.R. 401), all provisions related to amending the Mentally Ill Offender Treatment and Crime Reduction Act of 2004 to expand the assistance provided under such Act, and reauthorize appropriations for FY2015-FY2019.
Garrett Lee Smith Memorial Act Reauthorization of 2013 (S. 116), all provisions related to amending the Public Health Service Act to reauthorize and revise a research, training, and technical assistance resource center to prevent suicides (the Suicide Prevention Resource Center), expanding the program's focus from youth suicides to suicides among all ages, and repealing authority for grants to establish research, training, and technical assistance centers related to mental health, substance abuse and the justice system.
Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act of 2013 (S. 348/H.R. 672), all provisions related to amending the Public Health Service Act to direct the Administrator of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to award grants to states and nonprofit entities for consumer education about opioid abuse, including methadone abuse.
NICS Reporting Improvement Act of 2013 (S. 480), all provisions related to improving the effectiveness of the National Instant Criminal Background Check System by clarifying reporting requirements related to adjudications of mental incompetency, and for other purposes.
