Senate Special Committee on Aging Testimony on Regulatory Burden and Physician Burnout - Testified in front of the Senate Special Committee on Aging on how regulatory burden is impacting physician burnout. Supported policies to reduce administration burden and improve Medicare payment, as well as the following legislation to address the myriad factors impacting burnout: Resident Physicians Shortage Reduction Act of 2025 (S. 2439), Medicare Advantage Prompt Pay Act (S. 2879), Improving Seniors Timely Access to Care Act (H.R. 3514, S. 1816), and Strengthening Medicare for Patients and Providers Act (H.R. 6160).
Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026 - Sent letter to congressional leadership regarding policies in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026 (H.R. 7148). The letter supported the reinstatement of the Advanced APM incentive payment, lowering the Qualifying APM Participant threshold, extending telehealth flexibilities, delaying clinical lab cuts, and extending the 1.0 work GPCI floor.
Medicare Payment Reform - Supported the reintroduction of the Provider Reimbursement Stability Act (H.R. 8163) to reform Medicares budget neutrality requirements.
Value-Based Care - Joined letter to Congress discussing proposals to reform the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) to support value-based care.
Healthcare Workforce - Sent letter of support for the H-1Bs for Physicians and the Healthcare Workforce Act (H.R.7961). Joined letter of support for the Rural Residency Planning and Development Act of 2025 (H.R. 4731). Submitted a statement for the record for the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Healths hearing, Advancing the Next Generation of Americas Healthcare Workforce, that supported policies to expand graduate medical education and address education financing issues. Supported a bipartisan congressional letter requesting exemptions for healthcare workers from the H-1B visa application fee.
