Seek funding and support for the County's environmental infrastructure projects and priorities (including water, sewer, stormwater, dredging, and drainage), hurricane recovery efforts, and coastal conservation and impact assistance. Legislation of interest includes the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2018 and Supplemental Disaster Relief Requirements Act, 2017 (P.L. 115-56), the Additional Supplemental Appropriations for Disaster Relief Requirements Act, 2017 (P.L. 115-72), and the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018 (P.L. 115-123), and FY 2019 appropriations bills, new legislation to reauthorize the Water Resources Development Act of 2007 (P.L. 110-114), as amended, implementation of and proposed amendments to the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA)(P.L. 100-432), the RESTORE Act provisions in the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century (MAP-21) Act (S. 1813; P.L. 112-141), and the Magnuson Stevens Act, and funding for the Mississippi Coastal Improvements Program (MsCIP). Other activities include presenting comments and concerns regarding EPA's rules on ground-level ozone and (with the USACE) the definition of Waters of the United States under the Clean Water Act (WOTUS), and revisions to HUD's rule on floodplain management and minimum property standards, as well as monitoring bills relating to WOTUS and ground-level ozone and similar legislation and regulations, and seeking restoration of Water Resources Development Act 219-authorized funding borrowed by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and related and similar legislation and legislative efforts.
Other activities include possible applications for finance/funding under WIFIA. Support client's potential interest in reuse of the Mississippi Phosphates NPL Site
