Sent group letter to CFPB Director urging her to drop plans to reorganize the Division of Supervision, Enforcement and Fair Lending, which would serve to diminish the enforcement staff's input into decisionmaking.
Sent group letter to Senator Sherrod Brown thanking him for a variety of leadership activities in the public interest, including his opposition to OCC and FDIC efforts to allow so-called fintechs to evade state usury and consumer protections by issuing regulations on the so-called "true lender" and "valid when made" doctrines that, if upheld, will allow fintechs to use rent-a-bank schemes to hide behind bank charters and also his work in opposition to Facebook efforts to create a cryptocurrency to supplant the U.S. dollar.
