H.R. 1 - NETWORK opposes the following in this long term CR for 2011: reducing deficit on the backs of the most vulnerable,
cutting employment training while continuing huge tax benefits to the wealthiest
H.J. Res. 44 & H.J Res. 48 - NETWORK opposes a series of short-term CRs, as this destabilizes the sense of security, and opposes
the levels of cuts to human needs programs while not increasing taxes on the wealthy, and not making significant cuts to the military
NETWORK strongly opposes any structural changes to Medicaid and Medicare, as part of a budget decision. This needs to be debated and worked through as authorization changes independent of a given budget.
NETWORK strongly opposes a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution
S 245 Commitment to American Prosperity Act - NETWORK strongly oppposes this Act, as it would increase the deficit and decrease flexibility in meeting needs in an emergency or recession
NETWORK opposes the 2/3 spending cuts, 1/3 revenue increase balance in work to reduce the deficit. A different balance is needed
NETWORK strongly supports protection of EITC and CTC
