Urged Congress to enact a new multiyear highway spending bill that would significantly increase infrastructure investment and create new, fiscally responsible revenue streams to ensure the Highway Trust Fund's (HTF) long-term viability.
Supported the Surface and Air Transportation Program Extension Act (H.R. 2887), which extended the federal highway program and user fee authorization through March 31, 2012.
Encouraged Congress to refrain from allowing the federal highway program and Highway Trust Fund user fee authorization to lapse at the end of the fiscal year.
Lobbied Senate Finance Committee members to identify revenue sources to fully fund a new highway bill.
Educated lawmakers about consequences of funding the federal highway program exclusively on current Highway Trust Fund revenues.
