Affordable Health Coverage and Access to Health Care:
Jobs and Premium Protection Act (S. 80) - Support this bill to repeal the health insurance tax.
Middle Class Health Benefits Tax Repeal Act of 2019 (H.R. 748) - Support this legislation to repeal the Cadillac tax.
Middle Class Health Benefits Tax Repeal Act of 2019 (S. 684): Support this legislation to repeal the Cadillac Tax on health plans.
Health Insurance Tax Relief Act of 2019 (H.R. 1398, S. 172) - Support the legislation to extend the moratorium on the health insurance tax.
H.R. 1010 - Opposed this legislation that would repeal new rules designed to make transitional health coverage more practical and affordable for entrepreneurs through short-term limited-duration health plans.
Strengthening Health Care and Lowering Prescription Drug Costs Act (H.R. 987) - Opposed the legislation, which would repeal transitional health coverage for entrepreneurs (short-term limited-duration plans.)
Voiced concern about Medicare for All and Single Payer type proposals regarding their impact on small business costs, choices, quality of care and taxes.
HHS Proposed International Pricing Index (IPI) for Medicare Part D Drugs: Continued to express opposition and concern about its impact on investment, innovation and small bio-pharmaceutical firms.
Surprise Billing: Expressed support to Congress and Senate HELP Committee for a solution to address surprise medical bills (specifically to include market-based in network prices) and opposition to "binding arbitration" as a solution.
Binding Arbitration in Medicare Part B and Part D: Expressed opposition to the use of binding arbitration as a strategy for lowering drug prices in Medicare Part B and possibly in Medicare Part D.
Access to Capital and Capital Formation:
Urged House Financial Services Committee to focus on bipartisan solutions (such as JOBS Act 3.0 in the last Congress) and activity to help entrepreneurs access needed financing and capital.
Advocated for reform to equity and debt-based crowdfunding including lifting the limit on the amount that can be raised to $20 million, testing the waters, single purpose vehicles, among other changes.
Taxes, Tax Reform and Simplification:
The Small Business Owners Tax Simplification Act of 2019 (H.R. 593) - Support the legislation to modernize the tax code for small businesses.
The Main Street Tax Certainty Act of 2019 (H.R. 216) - Support the legislation to make permanent the 20% deduction for small businesses in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
Business Activity Tax Simplification Act (H.R. 3063): Support the legislation.
Indexing Capital Gains Taxes: Expressed support to the U.S. Treasury Secretary for taking administrative action to index capital gains for inflation.
Trade and Global Markets:
Expressed support and advocated for passage of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement (USMCA).
Expressed concerns regarding the impact of new and/or threatened tariffs from the Trump Administration on small businesses.
Continue to urge the Trump Administration to reach a trade deal with China to bring certainty to markets, costs certainty for small businesses, boost business investment and the economy.
Section 301 Tariffs: Expressed opposition to increased tariffs to USTR given their disproportionate impact on small businesses, their employees and customers
Small Business Regulatory Reform, Relief and Action on Key Administration Nominees:
Regulatory Reform for Small Business: Continue to support modernization of the regulatory process and giving small businesses a bigger voice in the process through the Small Business Regulatory Flexibility Improvements Act (S. 584 in previous Congress), the Early Participation in Regulations Act (S 1419) and the Setting Manageable Analysis Requirements in Text (SMART) Act (S.1420).
Continue to voice support for SBA Chief Counsel for Advocacy nominee David Tryon.
Voiced support and action for national legislation to address Privacy Regulation.
Voiced support for the Senate to confirm an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) member in order to reach quorum on key issues before the commission.
Save the Internet Act (H.R. 1644) - Opposed this legislation that would harm small ISP providers, raise costs for small businesses and hurt innovation within the internet ecosystem.
Corporate Transparency Act (H.R. 2513): Oppose the legislation to impose complex rules and requirements on all small businesses with regard to beneficial ownership.
Raise the Wage Act (H.R. 582): Expressed opposition to this legislation that would raise the minimum wage to $15 by 2024.
Affordable Energy:
PURPA Modernization Act of 2019 (H.R. 1502) - Support the legislation to modernize PURPA.
Infrastructure Legislation: Urged House members to include energy infrastructure projects in consideration of broader infrastructure legislation.
Competitive Wholesale Electricity Markets: Expressed support for FERC to continue reviewing ways to improve the cost-effectiveness and reliability of electricity markets.
U.S. Postal System (USPS) and Costs:
Postal Regulatory Commission Actions and Oversight: Through comments filed, urged continued action and commended the PRC for their oversight of USPS with regard to their financial condition, and to closely watch proceedings of the Universal Postal Union to guide key decisions moving forward
