S.936 - 115th Congress (2017-2018: A bill to designate certain National Forest System land and certain public land under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Interior in the States of Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming as wilderness, wild and scenic rivers, wildland recovery areas, and biological connecting corridors, and for other purposes. It creates about 24 million acres of wilderness from public lands.

US H.R.777 by U.S. Rep. James F. Sensenbrenner provides for a comprehensive assessment of the scientific and technical research on the implications of the use of mid-level ethanol blends, and for other purposes.
HR 1315, RFS Reform Act of 2017, by U.S. Rep. Robert Goodlatte to amend the clean air act to eliminate requirements under the renewable fuel program, to prohibit the Administrator of the EPA from approving the introduction into commerce gasoline that contains greater than 10% volume percent ethanol.
S517 is the Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act that amends the Clean Air Act with respect to the ethanol waiver for Reid Vapor Pressure limitations to allow the sale of E15 during the summer months.
HR 1311-This bill amends the Clean Air Act to address the limitations on Reid vapor pressure (a measure of gasoline's volatility) that are placed on gasoline during the summer ozone season. The bill applies the Reid vapor pressure requirements that are applicable to gasoline blended with 10% ethanol (E10) to gasoline blended with more than 10% ethanol. Thus, the waiver given to E10 gasoline, which allows an increase in the Reid Vapor Pressure volatility, is extended to gasoline blended with more than 10% ethanol.
HR 1315 (RFS Reform Act of 2017): 55 cosponsors, AMA raised concerns with the EPA regarding an E15 Misfueling Mitigation Plan, 2018 Renewable Volume Obligation and Reid Vapor Pressure.

The Federal Trade Office has listed a 100% Tariff increase on European motorcycles and parts to leverage the European Union to allow beef imports. The tariff targets racing motorcycles and will dramatically effect dealerships and motorcycle racing events.

US H.R. 701 by U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson the "Spy Car Study Act" directs government partners and private auto manufacturers to conduct a study on security and privacy threats in motor vehicles
S 1885 by Senator John Thune was modified by a committee substitute to define federal and state roles when regulating automated vehicles. State would regulate licensing, liability and insurance. NHTSA would regulate federal motor vehicle safety standards
H.R. 3388 defines highly automated vehicles other than a commercial motor vehicle as being equipped with an automated driving system and requires the Department of Transportation to research methods and terminology that is defined in SAE J3016. Discussed with the US Sec. of Transportation concerns about autonomous vehicles and highway safety. American Motorcyclist Association raised concerns about safety on our nations highways with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration affecting motorcyclists.

H.R.1033, Equal Access to Justice Act in the 115th Congress by U.S. Rep. Doug Collins, (R-GA9), amends the Equal Access to Justice Act and the federal judicial code to require the Administrative Conference of the United States to create and maintain online searchable databases with information about the attorney's fees and other expenses awarded to prevailing parties other than the United States in certain: (1) agency-conducted adversary adjudication proceedings, and (2) civil action court cases (excluding tort cases) or settlement agreements to which the United States is a party. AMA is interested in how it applies to environmental law.

Under current law, the awards are made unless the position of the agency was substantially justified or special circumstances make an award unjust.

The SIGN Act (HR 2029) states that no later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Administrator of the Federal Highway Administration shall issue a final rule that approves the use of Clearview font on positive contrast legends on guide signs. Such rule shall also be reflected in the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways (MUTCD).
