HR 2472; Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act. Would amend the Natl Labor Relations Act to change the definition of employer, employee and supervisor. The NLRA covers most private sector employers engaged in interstate commerce, including insurers and service providers. The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has jurisdiction over non-retailers with annual inflow or outflow of at least $50,000

HR 6201; Families First Coronavirus Response Act. The COVID-19 response legislation (package #2) includes mandated emergency paid sick leave and mandated paid family and medical leave for employees of employers with fewer than 500 employees. Additionally, the legislation makes available tax credits for the new paid leave requirements and requires group health plans and health insurance issuers to provide coverage of COVID-19 testing, and related office and telehealth visits, without imposing cost-sharing, prior authorization, or other medical management requirements. The measures enacted in this bill sunset on December 31, 2020, and funding appropriated remains available until September 31, 2022.
HR 748; Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The COVID-19 response legislation (package #3) seeks to provide support to individuals and businesses that includes retirement savings related provisions, Medicare related provisions, and business tax related provisions.
Not yet introduced; Paid Leave-Federal Preemption standards & separation of federal COVID-19 emergency paid leave from Non-COVID 19 paid leave. COVID-19 response package #2, FFCR, contained mandatory emergency paid leave for businesses with 500 or fewer employees with a sunset date of December 2020. History: Workplace Flexibility in the 21st Century Act of 2017 - H.R. 4219 in the 115th Congress (Rep. Mimi Walters R-CA) - The bill would have address the proposed or enacted paid leave laws that vary from state to state put in place in an attempt to address employees without paid leave benefits

HR 5826; Consumer Protection Against Surprise Medical Bills Act. Several proposals were introduced this Congress to address surprise billing: H.R. 861 - End Surprise Billing Act 2019; H.R. 3502-Protecting People From Surprise Medical Billing Act; H.R. 3630 - No Surprise Act; H.R. 4223 - Protecting Patients from Surprise Medical Bills; S. 1266 - Protecting Patients from Surprise Medical Bills Act; S. 1531, Stopping the Outrageous Practice of Surprise Medical Bills Act of 2019; and S. 1895 - Lower Health Care Costs Act. This legislation, with H.R. 5800 - Ban Surprise Billing Act, received more traction and establishes a process for arbitration.
HR 5800; Ban Surprise Billing Act. Several proposals were introduced this Congress to address surprise billing: H.R. 861 - End Surprise Billing Act 2019; H.R. 3502-Protecting People From Surprise Medical Billing Act; H.R. 3630 - No Surprise Act; H.R. 4223 - Protecting Patients from Surprise Medical Bills; S. 1266 - Protecting Patients from Surprise Medical Bills Act; S. 1531, Stopping the Outrageous Practice of Surprise Medical Bills Act of 2019; and S. 1895 - Lower Health Care Costs Act. This legislation, with H.R. 5826 - Consumer Protection Against Surprise Medical Bills Act, would use a market-based benchmark of the local median in-network rate for amounts less than or equal to $750 and allows providers and payers to elect an arbitration process for any amounts for which the median in-network rate is above that threshold.

S 2543; Prescription Drug Priciting Reduction Act of 2019. Restructures Medicare Part D program and includes an out-of-pocket maximum for Part D beneficiaries as well as other significant revisions to how the program is financed.
HR 3; Lower Drug Cost Now Act of 2019. Establishes a fair price negotiation program, protect the Medicare program from excessive price increases, and establish an out-of-pocket maximum for Medicare part D enrollees.
