Federal policies that encourage production, blending, and use of renewable fuels, specifically in the heating sector. U.S. Environmental Protection Agencys Proposed Rule for the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) Program: Standards for 2026 and 2027, Partial Waiver of 2025 Cellulosic Biofuel Volume Requirement, and Other Changes (See EPA-HQ-OAR-2024-0505).
"Energy Choice Act" (H.R.3699, S.1945), which would prevent bans on energy sources at the state and local level and preserve American energy security, reliability and consumer choice.
"Homeowner Energy Freedom Act" (H.R. 4758):Would repeal electrification subsidies in the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA),
"Don't Mess with My Home Appliances Act" (H.R. 626):Would reform the Energy Policy and Conservation Act of 1975 (EPCA) to prevent the Department of Energy from using appliance efficiency standards as a backdoor means of driving non-electric appliances and equipment out of the market.
"Reliable Federal Infrastructure Act" (H.R. 4690):Would prevent the federal government from banning liquid and gas heating fuels in federal buildings by repealing problematic provisions of the Energy Independence and Security Act.
"Northeast Home Heating Oil Reserve Protection Act" (H.R. 6933): Would require the Secretary of Energy to complete a long-range strategic review of the Northeast Home Heating Oil Reserve.
