Seek funding and support for the County's environmental infrastructure projects (including water, sewer and drainage), hurricane recovery efforts, and coastal conservation and impact assistance. Legislation of interest includes the FY 2016 Consolidated Appropriations Act (H.R. 2029; P.L. 114-113), the FY 2016 Energy and Water Development Appropriations Bill (H.R. 2028), and new legislation to reauthorize the Water Resources Development Act of 2007 (H.R. 1495; P.L. 110-114), including the Water
Addendum: Resources Reform and Development Act of 2013 (H.R. 3080; P.L. 113-121), the Water Resources Development Act of 2013 (S. 601), the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (S. 335), the Resources and Ecosystems Sustainability, Tourist Opportunities, and Revived Economies of the Gulf States Act of 2011 (S. 1400; H.R. 3096), implementation of and proposed amendments to the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA)(P.L. 100-432), and the RESTORE Act provisions in the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century (MAP-21) Act (S. 1813; P.L. 112-141). Other activities include presenting comments and concerns regarding EPA's rules on ozone and (with the USACE) the definition of Waters of the United States under the Clean Water Act, and revisions to HUD's rule on floodplain management and minimum property standards, as well as monitoring the Waters of the United States Regulatory Overreach Protection Act of 2014 (H.R. 5078), the Federal Water Quality Production Act (S. 1140), the Ozone Standards Implementation Act of 2016 (H.R. 4775), and similar legislation and regulations, and seeking restoration of Water Resources Development Act 219-authorized funding borrowed by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and related and similar legislation and legislative efforts.
Other activities include an application for membership on EPA's L.G.A.C.
