Fiscal Year 2024 Appropriations: Request for congressionally directed spending for multi-year workforce development demonstration pilot project integrating nurse education and practice for professional growth and satisfaction in the nursing professions, expanded nurse education capacity, increased nurse retention, and improved patient outcomes. Advocacy for increased FY24 programmatic funding for the National Institutes of Health and the Advanced Research Projects for Health Agency (ARPA-H), health professions workforce programs (HRSA Title VII and Title VIII health workforce development programs), Childrens Hospitals Graduate Medical Education (CHGME) programs, University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDDs), Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Programs, Graduate Psychology Education (GPE) Program, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, Agency for Health Care Quality and Research (AHRQ), the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC),NIH, and the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) to conduct public health research into firearm morbidity and mortality prevention, funding for Project ECHO and Oregon ECHO Network to support rural health care access and quality through support for rural primary care providers.
