S.3454 - A bill to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2011 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military
construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year and for other purposes.
HR 104 - Realize America's Maritime Promise (RAMP) Act - A Bill to ensure that amounts credited to the Harbor Maintenance
Fund are used for harbor maintenance.
HR 23 - Belated Thank You to the Merchant Mariners of World War II Act of 2011 - A bill to amend Title 38, United States Code to direct the secretary of Veterans Affairs to establish the Merchant Mariner.
The Department of Transportation (DOT) and The United States Department of Energy (DOE) affirmed that cargo preference requirements set forth in Title 46 apply to cargos funded with loan guarantees created by the Energy Policy Act.
Met with the new chairmen of the 112th Congress to continue and also establish new relations to discuss our area of need and issues of concern to the maritime business.
Met with maritime industry coalitions on the Maritime Security Program (MSP), cargo preference, Jones Act, Title XI and coastwise maritime highway to promote and to sustain the existing programs designed to support a healthy maritime industry.
Attended hearing to discuss the Oil Spill Report.
Attended hearing on "Improving and Streamlining the Coast Guard's Acquisition Program".
Attended hearing on "Assuring the Freedom of Americans on the High Seas: The United States Response to Piracy".
There were non-active periods in January (Jan.10th-21st), in February (Feb.1st-4th, 21st - 25) and March (Mar. 21st - 25th) of 2011.
