Precision Scheduled Railroading - TCU communicated with Congress, the Federal Railroad Administration and the Department of Transportation to register our ongoing concerns with safety issues tied to the Class 1 freight railroads' new operating model, "Precision Scheduled Railroading."
Truck Size and Weight - TCU communicated to Congress our continued opposition to any increases in the federal limits on truck sizes or weights. TCU opposes this for both safety and competitive reasons.

Precision Scheduled Railroading - TCU communicated with Congress and the Federal Railroad Administration to register our ongoing concerns with safety issues tied to the Class 1 freight railroads' new operating model, "Precision Scheduled Railroading," and the need for increased field inspections by the FRA. TCU has also communicated specifically to the FRA regarding the DOT mask requirements as well as proposed regulatory waivers from Class 1 freight railroads.
S.545/HR 2900 - REEF Act - TCU communicated with Congress in support of the Railroad Employee Equity and Fairness act, which would remove Railroad Unemployment Insurance (RUI) from the list of programs subject to budget sequestration.
Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) - TCU regularly communicates with representatives from the RRB with regards to administrative and IT modernization funding needs, potential policy changes by the Board, and the status of the National Railroad Retirement Investment Trust (NNRIT). TCU also communicates to Congress with regards to funding the RRB adequately in order to properly service railroaders and their families.
Amtrak - TCU regularly communicates with Amtrak, Congress and the Federal Railroad Administration with regards to the railroads funding requirements, workforce issues, staffing and service issues, and job protections during the pandemic.

H.R.842 - Protecting the Right to Organize Act of 2021 - TCU communicated our strong support for the PRO Act to the House and Senate. The PRO Act would be allow workers across the country to more easily seek and achieve representation and collective bargaining.
Commuter Railroads - TCU communicated to Congress our various issues related to ongoing collective bargaining disputes with our members' commuter railroad employers.
