Support the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District petition requesting that EPA adopt new national standards for on-road heavy-duty trucks and locomotives under federal jurisdiction to help address mobile sources that adversely impact air quality in the San Joaquin Valley Air Basin;
Calls for the establishment of a National Clean Air Investment Fund to accelerate the deployment of low-emission vehicles in a timeframe that will allow the Valley to meet National Ambient Air Quality Standards, protect public health, and avoid federal sanctions that will have a devastating impact upon the region;
Calls for Clean Air Act modernization and petition for reduction in emissions sources under federal regulation.
SJV Regional Planning Agencies Policy Council urges bipartisan cooperation between Congress and the Administration to resolve California's water crisis in response to five years of ongoing drought conditions in the Central Valley and encourages support for new storage capacity projects including Temperance Flat Dam and Sites Reservoir; drought has adversely affected local agriculture, employment, and economy of the greater San Joaquin Valley Region
