Strong opposition to legislationg that would restrict production of American energy and reduce energy dependence; Educating policymakers on the importance of assuring full and responsible implementation of the Energy Policy Act of 2005, including EPAct05 Section 368 (Western Energy Corridors); EPAct05 Section 1813 (Energy Rights of Way on Indian Lands);
EPAct05 Section 1221 (Designation of National Interest Electric Transmission Corridors); and EPAct05 Section 369 (Oil Shale and Tar Sands Leasing on BLM Lands); Educated policymakers with analyses and policy recommendations on how best to increase domestic fuel resource exploration and development to alleviate price escalations and national security concerns; Educated policymakers on the current technical status and future promise of various clean fuel technologies. Educated policy makers on the potential benefits to America from the utilization of coal to liquids technologies. Because of the consequences to energy consumers in the west, supported passage of H.R. 1662.
