HEALTH CARE OVERHAUL AND REFORM
Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA): Support repeal.
S.J. Res 39: Supported the Resolution of Disapproval to rescind HHS "grandfather rule."
HEALTH CARE OVERHAUL AND REFORM
Expanded 1099 Reporting (Section 9006 of PPACA): Support Repeal. SA 4596 (Johanns Amendment), H.R. 5141 and S3578. Opposed Nelson Amendment (SA 4595).
Health Savings Accounts (HSAs): Support protection of HSAs, and repeal of provision in PPACA that disallows tax-free purchases of over-the-counter medications using HSAs.
HHS "Grandfather Rule": Support statutory language that protects all plans before PPACA signed into law, and oppose current rule that will push most small business plans out of grandfathered status.
Support Repeal of Employer Mandate in PPACA.
Support Repeal of Individual Mandate in PPACA.
TAX POLICY And ACCESS TO CAPITAL
Extension of Bush Tax Relief: Support extending and making permanent all tax cuts for all income levels, as well as capital gains and dividend rates.
Death Tax: Support full repeal.
Home Office Deduction: Support simplification and reform as proposed in SA 4430 to "Small Business Jobs Act of 2010."
Carried Interest: Oppose higher taxes on carried interest and new "Enterprise Value Tax."
"Small Business Jobs Act of 2010" (HR 5297): Opposed creation of $30 billion fund, and advocated for meaningful tax relief.
REGULATION
"Equal Employment for All Act" (HR 3149): Oppose
"Paycheck Fairness Act" (S3772): Oppose
Dodd-Frank Conference Report: Opposed "financial regulatory reform" bill in final form.
Net Neutrality and Internet Regulation: Oppose Internet regulations as proposed by FCC.
"Gainful Employment Rule": Oppose DoL rule to put careeer colleges at severe disadvantage and undermine their ability to provide skilled labor to small business.
AFFORDABLE ENERGY
Taxes: Opposed a variety of tax increases on the energy industry included in legislation as "pay fors."
Cap-and-Trade: Opposed efforts in the Senate to limit energy use and drive prices higher through Kerry-Lieberman, "The American Power Act of 2010."
E12 Authorization at EPA: Oppose approval of the new and untested mandate to allow blended gasoline with 12% ethanol.
Hydraulic Fracturing: Support efforts to move slowly in regulation as the currently safe regime in the energy sector is working.
Offshore Drilling Moratorium: Supported lifting of the ban.
TRADE and IP PROTECTION
Free Trade Agreements: Support exanding free trade through pending trade agreements yet to be approved (Columbia, Panama and South Korea), and increased trade negotiations by the White House.
IP Protections: Support increased support by the federal government and White House to aggressively protect U.S. business IP at home and abroad.
