Regulations under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (HR 3590) related to calorie disclosure on products sold through vending machines (Federal Register/ vol. 78, No. 5/Page 1376 Tuesday, January 8, 2013) Food Safety Modernization Act (21 USC CHAPTER 27) proposed regulations restated to issue of food safety of imported food. Proposed regulations for Competitive Foods sold in schools pursuant to the Nation School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program: Nutrition Standards for All Foods Sold
in Schools as required by the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, (Pub.L. 11-296) and First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move Campaign. Meetings held with Food, Nutrition, and Consumer Services in the USDA. Tracking issues related to the US Food Code and its application to the micro market channel. Specifically, discussion surrounding state health department regulations, which mostly reflect the US Food Code related to food safety and micro markets and the Council For Food Protection. Tracking of Common Sense Nutrition Disclosure Act (H.R. 1249 & S. 1756) Consolidated Appropriations Act. 2014, P.L. 113-76 language directing the USDA to establish a waiver approval process for state agencies to grant waivers for the 2014-2015 school year. FY 2015 House Agriculture Appropriation Bill language related to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (HR 3590) calorie disclosure rules for vended products. Specifically House Appropriations Amendment to the Agriculture and Rural Development Appropriations Bill which provided report language regarding front of pack and front of vending machine labeling.

Tax on sugar-sweetened beverages and the impact on the vending industry, no bill pending at this time. Potential legislation by Congresswoman Rosa Delauro. Ways and Means Discussion Draft of Tax Reform Act of 2013, to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide for comprehensive income tax reform. Legislation has not been filed. Discussion of Tax Legislation provisions regarding royalty income for tax-exempt organization for use of their name or logo, etc.
Also, the safe harbor for qualified sponsorship payments and the passive income exception in the unrelated business income tax (UBIT) statute.
Signed letter of support on H.R. 4718 - an act to modify and make permanent bonus depreciation.

H.R. 2542 the Regulatory Flexibility Improvements Act of 2013 (RFIA) as it related to reforming the regulatory process to ensure that all federal agencies appropriately consider the impact
of their rules on small businesses across America. This specifically relates to pending FDA Calorie Disclosure regulations as required by the Affordable Care Act.
