The IBEW lobbied against a number of bills that would negatively impact IBEW members' rights in the workplace including but not limited to: Modern Worker Empowerment Act (S. 2228); Unlocking Benefits for Independent Workers Act (S. 2210); Flexibility for Workers Education Act (H.R. 2262) and Save Local Business Act (H.R. 4366).

The IBEW lobbied on H.R. 2671, the Tax Fairness for Workers Act, which seeks to restore the tax deduction for union dues and equipment that was eliminated by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) of 2017.
The IBEW lobbied on protecting the tax treatment of healthcare, including opposing legislation that seeks to limit and harm employer-provided health insurance.
