H.R.9685 - Refugee Protection Act of 2022: A bill to amend the Immigration and Naturalization Act and to provide for the admission and protection of refugees, asylum seekers, and other vulnerable individuals, to provide for the processing of refugees and asylum seekers in the Western Hemisphere, and to modify certain special immigrant visa programs, and for other purposes.
S.5353 - Refugee Protection Act of 2022: A bill to amend the Immigration and Naturalization Act and to provide for the admission and protection of refugees, asylum seekers, and other vulnerable individuals, to provide for the processing of refugees and asylum seekers in the Western Hemisphere, and to modify certain special immigrant visa programs, and for other purposes.
H.R.8685 - Afghan Adjustment Act: This bill expands eligibility for special immigrant visas to certain Afghan nationals (and accompanying spouse and children) and addresses related issues.

Executive Branch:
Humanitarian parole processing improvements and new humanitarian parole programs: Encouraged the State Department to improve humanitarian parole process, including adjudication, increased funding for legal services, and ensuring that USCIS adjudicators receive special training. Given the high rates of denial for humanitarian parole, the administration must do better to help those outside USRAP and other special immigrant processes.
Title 42: Encouraged the administration to commence rulemaking to terminate Title 42 and to release a plan for post-Title 42 operations.
Asylum Processing Rule: Encouraged the administration to increase outreach to Congress regarding their asylum processing rule.
Asylum Ban (Circumvention of Lawful Pathways NPRM): Encouraged the administration to withdraw the rule, including by advocating major organizations, international bodies, and Members of Congress submit their own comments to the NPRM. Supported this work by drafting a comment template.

H.R.734 - Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2023: This bill generally prohibits school athletic programs from allowing individuals whose biological sex at birth was male to participate in programs that are for women or girls.
H.R.5 - Parents Bill of Rights Act: This bill establishes various rights of parents and guardians regarding the public elementary or secondary school education (including secondary career and technical education) of their children. Local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools must comply with the requirements of the bill in order to receive federal education funds.
H.Res.219 - Bonamici Bill of Rights for Students and Parents: Expressing support for developing supportive, inclusive, safe, and responsive public schools that provide all students with a well-rounded education and prepare all students for success in life and for the exercise of their social and economic rights, fostering parental involvement in education in a manner that builds partnerships and trust between parents and educators, and protecting the civil rights of students and families.
