S. 2012- Energy Policy Modernization Act of 2015. BOMA lobbied to encourage energy efficiency without the creation of a federal-level, regulatory building energy code. The bill also requires DOE to engage real estate before establishing building energy targets.
H.R. 8 and H.R. 1273- BOMA lobbied to pass these bills that would require DOE to show a simple payback period of 10 years or less for energy efficiency improvements it suggests get added to the model building code. BOMA lobbied to ensure that the code is voluntary to adopt either as a whole or by individual provision. BOMA lobbied for a simple payback period that accounts for the financial realities of building ownership. BOMA lobbied to support DOE's role as a technical adviser in the codes process, but cautions against a federal agency lobbying a consensus code process.
BOMA lobbied to extend deductions for energy efficient improvements to commercial buildings, known as 179D deductions. BOMA lobbied to support legislation that helps building owners strive for greater energy efficiency.

BOMA lobbied for tax incentives for energy efficiency upgrades and urged Congress to consider conservation and demand side management tools, such as tax incentives, to address the growing energy challenge.
HR 3591/S 2068- Fire Sprinkler Incentive Act- BOMA lobbied to ammend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to include automated fire sprinkler system retrofits as section 179 property and classify certain automated fire sprinkler system retrofits as 15-year property for purposes of depreciation.
BOMA lobbied to maintain Section 1031 of the tax code, "Like-Kind" Exchanges, in it's current form. Section 1031 has been an effective economic development tool, stimulation job creation and investment.
BOMA lobbied for comprehensive tax reform policies that do not penalize capital investment in commercial real estate, do not discriminate against real estate as an investment class, do not retroactively tax embedded invests, revise depreciation schedules to more closely reflect market reality for building components,maintain a low tax rate on capital gains and provide a long terms certainly and stability for the economic health and growth of the real estate industry.

H.R. 3765 & S. 3446- The ADA Education and Reform Act, H.R. 241 ACCESS (ADA Compliance for Customer Entry to Stores and Services): BOMA lobbied for legislation that curbs drive by law suits by instituting a notice and cure period to allow building owners to remove barriers before the commencement of an ADA lawsuit.
