H.AMDT.199 to H.R.1947 Amendment sought to direct the Comptroller General to establish a pilot program within nine states that would collect the data that is currently required to be reported under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 and under the benefit redemption requirements applicable to households under the Act. The amendment also sought to require the Comptroller General, at the end of the pilot program, to determine whether item specific data purchased with SNAP benefits can be collected using existing reporting requirements, and how to improve current SNAP reporting.
