Clarification of tobacco cessation benefits in the Affordable Care Act; in general.
Issues re: proposed changes in the design and composition of cigarettes to eliminate the increased risk of disease and death identified by the Surgeon General in the report released in January.
Opposition to any amendment to Appropriations legislation that would exempt any type of cigar from regulation under the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act, P.L. 111-31, or would impede the current rulemaking process the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has initiated to determine the appropriate level of oversight for tobacco products not currently regulated by the agency.
Support for amendments to the FY2015 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations bill to require teh Department of Transportation (DOT) to complete a 2011 rulemaking regarding the use of electronic cigarettes on aircraft on within 90 days of enactment of the appropriations bill.
Comments re: FDA's proposed regulation extending its jurisdiction to various "deemed" tobacco products, including electronic cigarettes.
