Efforts to keep out of the FY 2018 omnibus bill H.R. 3441, the "Save Local Business Act," legislation amending the Fair Labor Standards Act and National Labor Relations Act. General education concerning the adverse impact of including changes to the scope of, or thresholds for, federal prevailing wage laws applicable to federal and federally-assisted construction as part of any continuing resolution to fund the government or any ultimate omnibus appropriations bill funding the government for Fiscal Year 2018. General education concerning the challenges that the misclassification of workers as independent contractors in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act poses for honest small businesses seeking to provide workers with middle class wages and benefits. General education concerning effective methods to successfully transition ex-offenders to the workforce and to help women enter non-traditional occupations such as construction.

Legislative recommendations of the Joint Select Committee on Solvency of Multiemployer Pension Plans to improve the solvency of the multiemployer pension system (no bill introduced). General education concerning the need for the Select Committee on Multiemployer Pension Reform to address more than just "red zone" plans and to provide for the long-term stability of the multiemployer pension system.
