HR 1057, S 560, The Promoting Automotive Repair, Trade, and Sales (PARTS) Act; Amends federal patent law to allow for the sale and use of non-OEM repair parts 30 months after a motor vehicle is first offered for public sale. We support these bills which will allow continued competition in the repair parts market, thus holding down auto repair and insurance costs for our policyholders.

HR 26 - Re-authorization of TRIA (Terrorism Risk Insurance Act) for 6 years and create the National Association of Registered Agents and Brokers (NARAB) Support both of these measures.
HR 1478/S 798 Policy Holder Protection Act - We support these bills which would preserve the financial strength of insurance companies for the benefit of policyholders, and preclude the use of a carriers financial strength to assist depository subsidiaries. Additionally, the legislation would ensure that troubled insurance companies will continue to be resolved by state insurance regulators.

HR 943 - The Medicare Employer Relief Act - Support this bill, which would delete outdated sections of the statutes that require businesses and CMS to use paper questionnaires to share information about claims involving Medicare beneficiaries. This same information is now exchanged electronically so this bill would eliminate needless and wasteful paperwork by the government and employers alike.
