HR 1473- discussed the importance of continued funding for federal student aid, research and education programs; encouraged timely resolution to FY 2011 budget matters. FY 2012 Agriculture Appropriations HR 2112-discuss agriculture research and cooperative extension budgets. FY 12 Commerce Justice Science Appropriations- discuss science research budget (NASA, NOAA, NSF); encourage timely resolution to budget matters. FY 12 Energy & Water Appropriations HR2354- discuss importance of Office of Science research budget; encourage timely resolution of budget matters.
FY12 Interior & Environment Appropriations discuss importance of research programs at EPA, National Endowment for the Humanities. Met with subcommittee staff to discuss WRRA/WRI and NEH budget concerns. Encourage timely passage of budget.
FY12 Labor-HHS- Education Appropriations- discuss importance of federal student aid and maintaining the maximum Pell grant award. Discuss impacts of cuts to Title VI programs and pushed for restoration in FY 12 budget. Discuss importance of full funding or the National Institutes of Health, Title VII health education programs, Cures Acceleration Network, Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality. Encourage timely passage of budget. FY12 Defense Appropriations HR2219- discuss importance of basic and applied research programs and encourage a timely passage of the budget.
