Animal Welfare - provided educational outreach on animal welfare practices of the dairy industry and opposed any more restrictive regulation on this issue
S. 2770 - Animal Handling-Downer Bill. Requests that USDA not allow a veterinarian to reinspect animals that become nonambulatory after they initially pass ante-mortem inspection.
H.R. 6598 - Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act of 2008 - opposed bill making it a felony to sell or transport a horse for the purpose of slaughter.
H.R. 1232 & S. 746 - Veterinary Public Health Workforce Expansion Act of 2007 - supported establishing a competitive grant program to build capacity in veterinary medical education and expand the workforce of veterinarians.

S. 3080 - Imported Ethanol Parity Act - supported bill that would require the President to reduce the duty on ethanol according to a certain ratio and take other steps to ensure the tariff on ethanol is equal to or lower than any federal income or excise tax credit for ethanol.
S. 3031 - freezing the renewable fuel standard - supported this bill.
Renewable fuels requirements and supports - participated in activities to highlight the linkage of such policies to the impact on feed and fuel prices.
HR 1424 - The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008- supported extension of tax credits for numerous forms of renewable energy production.

S. 280 - Climate Stewardship and Innovation Act of 2007 - climate change legislation
S. 2191 - America's Climate Security Act of 2007 - to establish a cap & trade system for emissions in the US.
Final rulemaking on Clean Water Act regulations pertaining to Confined Animal Feeding Operations
Rulemaking on CERCLA/EPCRA pertaining to livestock operations - proposed to exclude from federal reporting requirements the emmissions of ammonia from dairy manure to the air, as well as ammonia emissions from all other livestock & poultry operations related to manure.
