Urged changes in the Affordable Housing and Self-Sufficiency Act to regain the discretion of individual public housing agencies to set a minimum rent below the federal cap, including a minimum rent of $0 and reform the hardship exemption so it protects vulnerable households from losing their housing if they cannot pay the increased minimum rent.

Recommended guidance on the implementation of the deferred action policy regarding certain undocumented youth, including: implementing strong confidentiality provisions; and exclusionary factors should be clearly and narrowly defined; the development of a streamlined and straightforward application process. Opposed amendments to the FY 2013 DHS appropriations bill that would prohibit the administration from granting deferred action,
humanitarian parole, Temporary Protected Status, and Cancellation of Removal. Supported the announcement of the proposed Provisional Unlawful Presence Waiver Rule. Urged that the change include lawful permanent residents and family preference categories,\; expand and consistently apply the definition of "extreme hardship"; expand eligibility criteria; and enhance due process protection.
