CIRT supports technical corrections addressing tax treatment of loan forgiveness (related to IRS Notice 2020-32).

CIRT supports passage of HEA and JOBS Act legislation/provision.
CIRT supports filling EEOC vacancies; and rescinding Obama-era DOL rule on data-collection compliance rule.
CIRT supports passage of the SAFE TO WORK Act (S.4317) to prevent unfair lawsuits related to COVID-19 claims.
CIRT recommends that workforce development be an essential ingredient of the Safely Back to School and Back to Work Act
CIRT supports DoLs proposed rule (RIN 1205-AB85) regarding Industry-Recognized Apprenticeship Programs.
CIRT supports passage of the Jumpstarting Our Businesses Success Credit (JOBS Credit) Act of 2020 (H.R. 6776).
CIRT recommends that workforce development be an essential ingredient of the coming economic recovery (and any Acts related to COVID-19 spending).
CIRT joined a letter to Attorney General Barr, urging that the Federal Prison Industries (UNICOR) suspend operations using inmates to provide services/goods during the pandemic.
CIRT supports the apprenticeship model as espoused in the "NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP ACT" which seeks to elevate it to a national priority.

CIRT urged CARES Act revisions to explicitly waive IRC Section 265 from applying to PPP loan forgiveness.
CIRT strongly favors additional funding for the Paycheck Protection Program for vital loans to businesses.
