Advocated for several UMDNJ special projects benefiting the Gallo Prostate Cancer Center at CINJ; the University Center for Disaster Preparednesss and Emergency Response, and the New Jersey Medical School Autism Center, that they be retained within the FY 2011 Omnibus Appropriations Bill. Advocated the enactment of higher FY 2011 appropriation levels for the National Institutes of Health, the Health Resources and Services Administration, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as they are
important sources of federal support for UMDNJ.

Advocated UMDNJ special projects "Cancer Initiative for Research at the Dean and Betty Gallo Prostate Cancer Center" and the special project benefiting the NJMS Autism Center be retained within the FY2011 Omnibus Appropriations Bill. Advocated for the passage of HR 847 which provides a five year authorization for the WTC9-11 Health Monitoring and Treatment Program, providing critical funding stability for the UMDNJ 9-11 WTC Health Clinic. Advocated the passage of HR 5712 and HR 4944 which extends
the SGR patch through 1/1/2012 and voids a mandated 25% cut in federal Medicare reimbursements to physicians which would have impacted many UMDNJ health providers. Advocated NJ Congressional members to co-sign a letter in support of an application by The Cancer Institute of New Jersey for redesignation as a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
