● Address Hill staff follow-up inquiries related Clients FY2025 appropriation letters, CDS and programmatic requests for NOAA marine fisheries surveys, data collection and research portfolio including: regional councils and commissions; interjurisdictional grants; data collection, surveys and assessments; electronic monitoring, salmon management, groundfish surveys on the West Coast and Alaska; and EIS needs for the West Coast States.

● Ongoing efforts with Hill staff to improve and secure final passage of the FISHES Act to streamline the federal fishery disaster processes; provide feedback to Hill staff on economic impact provision in the Protect American Fisheries Act of 2024 (H.R. 10010). Monitor and report on fisheries disaster relief funding included in the FY2025 Further Continuing Appropriations Act (H.R. 10545)
● Assist Client to conduct virtual meeting with HI congressional delegation on status of fishery disaster process & PSMFC programs
● Provide feedback to Hill staff on WRDA language related to aquatic invasive species and watercraft inspection stations; and on national MRIP reform legislation, H.R. 8705; send letter to Congress and communicate with Hill staff on state boat inspection fees related to S 4113, the State Boating Act
● Provide ongoing information to Client on Administration developments re: offshore wind energy sites and environmental impacts
● Continue to provide Client with ongoing intelligence on several key regional marine issues including: MSA legislation, ESA salmon listings, OSW energy development & impacts on whales; sanctuary proposal in the Bering Sea/Aleutian Islands; WA-AK chinook salmon status and SRKW population issues; CA/OR sea otter reintroduction; and MSA reauthorization, Hill staff changes, NOAAs 2023 IRA spend plan, MMPA issues; fishery disaster reform, Aquatic Invasives Species funding and project awards, SSL ESA salmon predation, availability for fisheries-dependent ports to seek MARAD grant funding, aquaculture provisions considered in reauthorization of USDA farm programs, Harmful Algal Blooms legislation/funding, final rule on vessel electronic monitoring, Federal Fish Passage Grant Programs and awards, Mitchell Act hatcheries, Columbia River Basin restoration.
