Supported Freedom of Religion Act of 2019: To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to provide that an alien may not be denied admission or other immigration benefits because of the alein's religion. Supported the Alternatives to Detention Act of 2019 requiring alternatives to detention for certain vulnerable populations. Urged reduction in funds for detention, deportations, border militarization, or border wall construction. Opposed the Trump/McConnell "End the Shutdown and Secure the Border Act." Opposed loss of status for longtime Liberian residents. Supported Temporary Protected Status for Venezuela. Extend TPS for South Sudan. Supported the Dream and Promise Act of 2019 (HR 6), to provide permanent protection to eligible TPS and DACA recipients. Supported the NO BAN Act to stop the Muslim Ban and future based on religion or national origin. Supported HR 1232, 1233, and 1234 in opposition to the Border Wall.
