Advocated for repeal of unrelated business income tax on fringe benefits provided by tax-exempt organizations to employees (enacted as part of 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act).
Advocated for repeal of nonprofit excise tax on executive compensation in excess of $1 million. ASAE also requested that the Treasury Department issue guidance establishing a grandfather rule for tax-exempt entities that applies to amounts paid pursuant to a written binding contract that was in effect prior to Nov. 3, 2017. This would mirror the grandfather clause included in the tax law for executive compensation contracts of publicly held corporations.

Advocated in favor of reasonable increase in the salary threshold for overtime eligibility. ASAE supports the DOL proposed overtime rule issued in March 2019 that intends to raise the annual minimum salary requirements for the FLSAs white collar (executive, administrative, and professional) overtime exemptions to $35,308 ($679 per week), up from the current annual minimum of $23,660 ($455 per week).
