Urging Secretary of State to urge Mexican officials to broaden Mexico vaccine availability; to urge sponsors of Nicholas and Zachary Burt Memorial Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Prevention Act (S.351/HR1460) to support the bills but to correct language in the bills with regard to alarm/detector compliance with UL standards.
Advocacy on all aspects of the FIND Act and CMS/OPPS to ensure that Medicare appropriately pays for certain diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals approved after 2008 with a cost per day of $500 or more.
Additional advocacy on the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, in which we encouraged CMS to remove its automatic non-coverage for non-oncologic PET. NEMA also requested that FDA grant an extension on timeline for comments to the proposed notice and comment on a court decision that requires the FDA to review whether a product should be reviewed as a drug or a device.
Advocacy to ensure medical imaging device servicing is performed safely by qualified repair technicians with FDA oversight. Advocacy to increase federal coverage for focused ultrasound therapy under HR 4043. Developing advocacy for cybersecurity protections for legacy medical imaging devices.
