Support for H.R. 1232 - the "Stop Militarizing Law Enforcement Act". We educated our supporters on this bill, which seeks to "amend title 10, United States Code, to direct the Secretary of Defense to make certain limitations on the transfer of personal property to Federal and State agencies, and for other purposes." We sought more co-sponsors for this bill in the House of Representatives, and used it as template for conversations supporters had with their Senate Offices.

We educated our supporters to lobby their members of congress to support refugee and immigrant rights in the U.S. and Mexico. Mostly through our supporters, we began asking Members of Congress to support cuts in U.S. funding for Mexico's Plan Frontera Sur / Southern Border Plan and other immigration enforcement aid in Mexico, and to support Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Central American refugees and asylum-seekers in the U.S.
